Hath Summer Players present “Father of the Bride” at Creative 360

July 11, 2024, Midland, MI.

 – Wedding mayhem and family mishaps abound in Hath Summer Players’ production of “Father of the Bride”, July 18th through 21st on the Creative 360 stage.
Based on Edward Streeter’s 1949 best seller, this classic comedy revolves around the Banks family, whose 21-year-old daughter, Kay, makes a surprise announcement that she and her boyfriend, Buckley, are going to be married.

Kay and Buckley have different ideas of a “small” wedding. Meanwhile, Mrs. Banks wants her daughter to have a perfect wedding, and Mr. Banks struggles with his little girl growing up and the ever-growing cost of the event. Add in a colorful wedding planner, his assistant, and a sassy family housekeeper and you have all the ingredients for a delightful performance filled with romance and humor.

The cast includes Maxwell Teall, Grace Armstrong, Jocelyn Perez, Wyatt Brown, Albin Reeder, Sam Rosin, Abigail Peters, Abby Price, Cody Ridder, Mae Reim, and Jessica Ashland.

“I love “Father of the Bride” because the real-life humor is relatable to almost everyone,” said the play’s director, Peter Brooks. “And it is not just laughs. By the end of the show, we are reminded that the relationships in life are what really matter.”
