Live in the Movement

Founder and director of Elite 360 Dance Company, Natalie Schwartz offers ballet, hip-hop, jazz and more to children as young as 3 and adults of any age! She has been dancing for 19 years, and began teaching  six years ago. Natalie served as choreographer for the MHS Drama Club, and has choreographed three musicals in the region since 2015. Natalie values each student individually and mentors them based on their strengths, while also helping them learn new things.

“For those who think they can’t dance, I didn’t think I could either.  But you get better. And that is a big  confidence thing.” Ethan Wheeler

Anyone who has a child in dance or theater or who wants their child in dance should really take their child to Natalie Schwartz.” Jennifer Winberg

Meet the Teachers

Natalie Schwartz:

Natalie grew up in Midland and began dancing at the age of two. She studied at Dean Black School of Performing Arts through her senior year of high school. She graduated in 2015 from Midland High (Go Chemics!) and immediately started her own theatrics dance company Elite Arts Company. She has been trained in ballet (Cecchetti), pointe, tap, jazz, hiphop, contemporary, lyrical, swing dance, and waltz ballroom.

Natalie began her teaching career as a sophomore in high school when she taught and choreographed a lyrical routine for her school's talent show. At 16, she began choreographing professionally at Midland Center for the Arts for their production of the Rocky Horror. Since then, Natalie has choreographed Midland High’s Putnam County, Shrek the Musical, and Adams Family. She also choreographed Legally Blonde and Anything Goes at Pit and Balcony. Her own dance company has performed Circus Circus, Diary of Anne Frank, and Alice in Wonderland - all told through dance. She trained at many dance intensives and classes throughout Michigan including Midland, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Saginaw, Bay City, and Detroit.

In addition to dance, Natalie works as a waitress at Oscar Bar and Grill, and has her own small photography business where she photographs weddings, senior pictures, hobby portraits, and dance photos for low income families. She has worked as a full-time nanny, and a chef at Midland Center for the Arts. She recently adopted a baby ball python named Tomber. She also loves to cook. The thing Natalie most enjoys is seeing growth in her students and being a mentor in their lives. She encourages self-esteem and self-love within her students and only wants the best for them and their dance careers.

Melissa Curtiss:

Melissa grew up around dance and music.  She began dancing at the Bohaty Dance School (Saginaw, MI) at the age of four, and continued as a Bohaty dancer through high school.  She has been trained in ballet (Cecchetti), point, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and gymnastics, competing as a Bohaty dancer (for both Saginaw and Chesaning studios) across the country.  Melissa also taught private and group dance classes in all genres  for eight years at the Bohaty Dance School in Saginaw.

After high school, Melissa was a semi-professional dancer as part of the Saginaw Spirit and Saginaw Sting dance teams for four years.  As a way to continue her love for dance, she has choreographed routines for local dance studios both in Saginaw, MI, and while living in Houston, TX.  She is currently Assistant Choreographer, Tap Coach, and Acro Coach for Elite Arts Company.

In addition to her dance career, Melissa was a member of the Hemlock High School Varsity Pom Pon Team and Mid-American Pom Pon All-Star Team.  She was head coach for the Hemlock Middle School Pom Pon Team for two years, and then head coach of the Hemlock High School Varsity Pom Pon Team for four years.  Melissa remains a close advisor and choreographer for the current Hemlock High School Varsity Pom Pon Team who have been state champs two years in a row!

Along with Melissa’s passion for dance, she also enjoys being able to mentor youth and helping others find their true potential.
