Creative 360 Hosts Sound Bath Experience
Sonic States: Synthesizers & Saxophones
A Sound Bath Experience with Jeffery Thiele and Keri Kenney will be at Creative 360
Ashman Gallery’s (144 Ashman) on Friday, December 30th 7-8:30pm for an evening of music, meditation, connection, and community.
Keri Kenney, ERYT500, with over 2000 hours of teaching experience with dynamic and diverse populations, will begin the experience with gentle movement, ground, and intention and Jeffrey shares his gifts of music, melody, and sound to guide participants gently into a meditative state of peace and ease.
The work of Midland native Thiele, the curator of the music, stems from the tradition of various strains of jazz, electronica, experimental ambient, and downtempo. In his meditative events, Thiele utilizes analog synthesizers, saxophone, clarinet, and flute to cast listeners into an apparent sleep state that encourages internal healing, relaxation, and reflection. He currently resides in Miami, where he is working towards his doctorate in public health and as a musician.
The presenters encourage all to come dress comfortably for the experience. Chairs and bolsters will be available on site, however you can bring your own cushions and mats as desired.
“We are so happy to offer such a calming event during what can often be a stressful time of year,” said Creative 360 Executive Director Laura Vosejpka. “Keri Kenney has a magical way of creating opportunities and spaces that create a beautiful feeling of connection for all participants.”
Taking principles from the scientist and musician John Stuart Reid, this event utilizes the meditative power of deep bass drones to help encourage stress relief and relaxation. Attendees of the Sonic States meditation session will be invited to encounter meditative states through a mix of deep drones and peaceful woodwind looping.
The event is Friday, December 30 from 7:00 – 8:30. Pricing is $20 (community/discounted rate) $25 (sustainer/ at cost) $30 (supporter/ pays for you + supports another) All are always welcome. Please let the presenters know how they can best support you.
