Creative 360 exhibit features local artist Jazzmyn Benitez
September 12, 2022, Midland, MI. – On Friday, October 21 at 7pm Creative 360 will open The Individual Human Experience, a multimedia arts experience created by Midland artist Jazzmyn Benitez. The exhibit reflects the personal experience of the artist with words, phrases, and poems interwoven with visual art and a curated playlist to connect the artist and the space to the greater community.
“This body of very personal work represents both vulnerability and empowerment,” said Creative 360 curator Colleen Reed. “Jazzmyn has a complex and fascinating vision that is both engaging and enlightening.”
Benitez, who came to Midland from California, is a vibrant presence in the Great Lakes Bay region community both for her work as an artist and an arts activist. She has designed and painted large outdoor murals in the region and is the re-creator of The Blue Light, a venue for musicians to share their gifts, ideas and art within the Midland community. Jazzmyn helps to create the welcoming vibe of Midland’s Live Oak Coffeehouse and serves as a leader in Public Arts Midland.
“We are both excited and honored to open this exhibit,” remarked executive director Laura Vosejpka. “Jazzmyn’s unique artistic vision, dedication to supporting fellow artists, and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in our community represents the best of Midland.”
The Individual Human Experience opens Friday, October 21 with a reception from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at Creative 360’s Bayliss Street Gallery. Admission is free. Refreshments will be available.
