Creative 360 Hosts Michigan Poets at Downtown Gallery
August 18, 2022, Midland, MI. – On Monday August 29th at 7pm, Creative 360 will host a poetry reading downtown featuring works by Larry Levy and Skip Renker.
Skip Renker lived for many years in Midland. His award-winning poems have appeared in numerous journals and magazines and in four books, including the just-published A Patient Hunger. A graduate of Notre Dame and Duke, he has an MFA from Seattle Pacific University and he is Professor Emeritus at Delta College. He lives in Petoskey with his wife Julia Fogarty.
Larry Levy’s poems have appeared in The Virginia Quarterly Review, The Driftwood Review, Third Wednesday, South Carolina Review, Controlled Burn, among others. His latest poetry collection, Blessed Arrangement, includes a Pushcart Prize nominated piece. Retired from teaching at every level from pre-school to graduate school, Larry and his wife Cheryl live in Midland, directing plays for community theater.
“I’m delighted to read once again with my talented friend, Skip Renker,” said Levy. “We will be sharing poems from several of our books, as well as a few newer and as yet uncollected poems. The downtown Ashman Street space recently opened by Midland’s Creative 360 is actually the perfect venue for this event.”
The event is on Monday, August 29 from 7:00 – 8:30 and will be held at Creative 360’s NEW Gallery Space at 144 Ashman Street. Books will be available for purchase. Please let us know you are coming by calling the art center at 989-837-1885 or registering online. Admission is $5.
