On Sunday, August 8, 2021, Creative 360 will become the new home for Alignment 8, hosting an Artist Talk and Open House featuring Alignment 8 visionary Keri Kenney. The informal program will start at 7 pm, with Kenney sharing her vision for her work with Creative 360. At 8 pm, she will lead a short centering practice for those who are interested in experiencing her teaching style.
“We are so excited to partner with Keri and Alignment 8,” remarked Creative 360 executive director, Laura Vosejpka. “The mission, vison and values that inform Keri’s work are completely in sync with those of Creative 360. We are currently missing a holistic wellness component to our programming and Keri brings this and so much more!”
Alignment 8 Yoga and Cycle opened in 2014 and Kenney, who taught for the organization, took over full ownership in 2015. Kenney’s commitment to all aspects of health and well-being have been an important component of her success and have allowed her to quickly develop a strong following in Midland. Unfortunately, COVID shutdowns forced Alignment 8, like many small face to face businesses in Midland, to change their model. Kenney moved to operating solely on donations, offering virtual classes and practices, as well as outdoor practices.
“The A8 community held one another through this pandemic because we are more than just a physical space,” Kenney commented. “We are still alive and thriving and look forward to not only finding our ground again with Creative 360, but also welcoming others into our wonderful, caring, wellness community.”
“A mutual friend connected Keri to us and we could not be more thrilled,” Vosejpka said. “Keri is a bolt of positive energy and her vision is one that we most definitely share. She truly meets her students where they are and is committed to the physical, mental and spiritual health and wellness of all.”
“Alignment 8 is about whole health and resilience,’ said Kenney. “Our mission of care and grace through the sharing of resources, practices, opportunity, education and building and repairing relationships with ourselves, our Higher power and with one another feels very closely connected to what Creative 360 stands for. I am so excited to be able to meet this important need in our community in partnership with the team at Creative 360.”
Kenney will offer a variety of yoga and wellness classes beginning the week of August 9th, including Vinyasa Yoga, Gentle Yoga/Yin, Chair Yoga and a unique Rest & Reflect Restorative Yoga class that will combine yoga with a variety of meditative reflection techniques including journaling, artistic reflection and/or quiet meditation.
