On Wednesday, February 24th, local poet Larry Levy will be at Creative 360 to read from his latest collection of poems, “Blessed Arrangement.” The event is occurring both socially distanced in-person and via Zoom.
“Blessed Arrangement” is Levy’s fourth published collection of poems. In it he tackles our current political reality, touching on the plight of migrant children, for instance, and his own immigrant ancestors.
Jeff Vande Zande, award winning novelist, Delta College professor and admirer of Levy’s remarked that in this current collection, “Levy pulls off the veil. Pulls off the gloves. ‘Listen now,’ these poems say. ‘I’m going to say it plain.’ I don’t write this lightly when I say these are poems for our times.”
Levy will read a selection from the book and will be available for a question and answer period and discussion afterwards. Signed books will be available for purchase.
“We are so pleased that Larry is kicking off his new collection with us,” remarked program director Colleen Reed. “We are fortunate to have such a talented writer as a supporter of Creative 360 and we are looking forward to a wonderful night of poetry.”
The program will start at 7 pm. Those interested can sign up on the website, becreative360.org/events or call the arts non-profit at 989-837-1885. Options for both in-person and Zoom participation are available during sign up.
Creative 360 will be working with Levy to re-tape the reading for a future release. Details will be available in the weekly newsletter
