If you are looking for something fun and creative to do in the safety of your own space, Creative 360 has you covered! This month the arts education non-profit introduced their new ArtSpark boxes, available for purchase at the Bayliss location or by phone.
There are two types of ArtSpark boxes: Project Kits and Inspiration Boxes. The first Project Kit is a Watercolor Kit, which contains everything you need to create two watercolor paintings including paints, brushes, instructions and a link to a video that you can use to paint along with Artshop Director and award-winning artist, Allise Noble. “These project boxes are appropriate for nearly any age artist,” said Noble, who is also the lead artist for the Creative Kids program. “We had our Creative Kids students complete one of the paintings, a night beach scene, in class last week and they did an amazing job.”
The Inspiration Boxes are a different thing altogether. “We wanted to put together a collection that encouraged independent creative thinking and art-making,” said Executive Director Laura Vosejpka. “The Inspiration Boxes have no instructions. They contains an eclectic mix of items to encourage you to ‘think outside of the box.’ We can’t wait to see what people create with these treasures.”
In honor of Creative 360’s 25th anniversary, the contents of the October Inspiration Box were inspired by co-founders Linda Z. Smith and Cynthia Keefe. Future boxes will reflect Creative 360’s monthly themes: Gratitude in November and Hygge in December.
“Linda and Cynthia gave us some very interesting ideas for this first Inspiration Box,” remarked Vosejpka. “Those who know them will definitely see their mark on the contents.”
The ArtSpark Inspiration Boxes also contain three envelopes with ideas for using the materials, but only if an artist needs a little nudge.
“We understand that not everyone is comfortable leaving their homes to take a class with us,” commented Allise Noble. “We wanted everyone to be able to experience the joy and healing that being creative can bring and so we decided to bring the art to them! The next Project Kit will be a Collage Kit and will come out in early November.”
All ArtSpark Boxes are $20 and 100% of the proceeds go directly to supporting Creative 360’s programming. You can purchase a box at the center and the staff is also able to ship the boxes in the US for a small postage fee.
