OPEN HOUSE FOR LINDA Z. AND DAVE SMITH

The May 19 floods took many things from this region. One of the casualties nearest and dearest to Creative 360 is its co-founder Linda Z. Smith and her husband Dave who will leave Midland on June 17. Since their condo in Midland was lost to flood waters, they have decided to make their Florida winter home their permanent residence. They will be missed.

Friends who would like to wish them well are invited to a simple Open House at Creative 360 on Tuesday, June 16 at 3:00-4:30 p.m. The gathering is planned to be an outdoor event. Friends will have an opportunity for formal remarks at 3:30 and give their well wishes informally throughout the event.  Cards are encouraged.

“Linda is a gift to so many. She is the spirit and soul of Creative 360,” said Interim Executive Director Carol Speltz. “We knew that even with short notice, people will want to send Linda and Dave off packed with gratitude and good wishes. “

Every precaution will be taken in accordance with CDC and State of Michigan guidelines to ensure guest health and safety. The gallery will be open, but to only to a few at a time. Any one going inside during the event is required to wear a mask. One will be provided to those who do not have one. Rules governing food and drink during this time means refreshments are likely to be limited to bottled water.

“We are eager to provide the type of event Creative 360 is known for – a welcomed gathering of friends enjoying good food and drink. For this event, we are focusing on the gathering of friends. We want everyone to feel safe,” said Speltz.

If all goes well and Covid-19 stays at bay, Creative 360 plans a more formal opportunity to thank Linda at a Co-founders Dinner and celebration in October. At that time, guests will be invited to a wonderful catered meal and a night of shared remembrances to thank Linda and Cynthia Keefe for bringing their dream to life 25 years ago.
