Creative 360’s next Tuesday Tribute will be in honor of Marge Darger (82) who is a peace activist and lay minister. The event is scheduled for April 18 at 2:30 p.m. in the Creative 360 Gallery. Tuesday Tributes are hosted by Creative 360’s former Executive Director Carol Speltz, and offer an opportunity to hear from an array of fascinating octogenarians about their lives, their creative process, and their adventures. There will be lively conversation, tea, treats, and time for Q&A. Cost is $5.
Marge Darger received her B.S. from Saginaw Valley State University in political science, and her M.A. in pastoral ministry from Marygrove College. She and her husband Dick, an attorney for The Dow Chemical Company have five children. Dick died in 2011.
Darger’s life has been devoted to volunteering. She is deeply involved in church and the community. Her peace activities include a protest that resulted in a 21-day incarceration at Arete, a federal halfway house in Saginaw. Most recently, she has been involved in the Helen M. Casey Center for Nonviolence, Nonviolence Peaceforce, and Blessed Sacrament Homebound Ministry.
This Yes We Can! season’s final Tuesday Tribute is schedule for April 25 and features Barbara Meyer (81), an artist who was in the Yes We Can! Exhibition.
