Creative 360 will benefit from a “Teen Cabaret” that showcases the talents of eight high school students from around the Great Lakes Bay Region. The show is planned for Saturday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. on the Creative 360 Gallery Stage. Guests will enjoy two acts separated by a dessert reception during intermission. Admission and dessert are both available by donation.
Organizer and Director, Em Thomas, a junior at Midland High School participated in a cabaret last year and wanted to give other teens a chance to have the unique experience of a cabaret performance. “The cabaret is a great demonstration of the benefits of artistic collaboration,” she explained. “Our vocalists represent four schools and three cities and have found common ground through their love of performance. It will be an entertaining and fun evening for everyone from ages 1 to 100.”
The evening will include a mix of classic and contemporary musical theatre repertoire that not only provides a fun challenge for the performers, but also shares an interesting journey through musical theatre for the audience. The show features solos, duets and trios, allowing the performers to form a bond with one another through storytelling and music.
Todd Thomas will serve as the accompanist for the performers who include: Emma Brown, Sarah Evens, Savannah Hegyi, Austin Knapp, Maddy Paxson, Kyler Syping, Em Thomas and Christopher Von Aaparede.
Thomas developed her cabaret idea into a fundraiser as a way to give back for all the community support as she has grown in vocal and musical theatre performance. She chose Creative 360 as the recipient because in her words, “it is one of the region’s most active, diverse and inclusive arts organizations.”
