Creative 360 will host a Yes We Can! luncheon on Friday, February 19 in honor of Nan (86) and Dick (88) Skochdopole, community leaders, scientist and peace advocates. Lunch will be catered by Northwood University’s NADA Center and includes garden salad, chicken roulade, roasted redskin potatoes, glazed carrots and cherry pie. Cost is $30. RSVP is required by February 15.
Nan grew up in Iowa; Dick in Nebraska. They met at Iowa State University where Nan received her B.S. in Child Development, and Dick received a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. Both are members of the Nonviolent Peace Force, and were involved in the U.N. Decade of Peace for Children.
Dick retired from the Dow Chemical Company where he worked in polymers, plastic foam, and plastic engineering. He was a member of the American Chemical Society for 63 years, served as president for Sigma XI, and belonged to the Society of Plastics Engineers. Dick has been involved with Big Brothers, Youth Alcohol and Drug prevention programs, Boy Scouts, and Aldersgate United Methodist Church in a variety of positions.
Nan’s devotion to community organizations is well known. She has been a leader for the Girl Scouts and a Board member for Midland Public Schools. She has been active in the American Association of University Women, Habitat for Humanity, League of Women Voters, Aldersgate U.M.C., a Sunday School Teacher, and much more.

Creative 360’s innovative Yes We Can! program is in its third year. Yes We Can! recognizes and honors those 80 and over in a way that respects their knowledge and taps into their legacy of creativity. This amazing, but often disregarded segment of the population offers a wealth of experience and knowledge that should be shared with people of all ages. Our multi-faceted series offers programs in which you can learn about community leaders, authors, musicians, artists, and scientists. It gives participants ongoing opportunities to engage with and learn from a compelling group of senior presenters and educators.
