Join us for the Creating Together Piece by Piece Exhibition Opening Reception this Friday, February 13. The juried exhibition features art that has been created “piece by piece,” and includes mosaic, assemblage, collage, quilting, and more. There is no charge to attend. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. and light refreshments will be provided. The art is on display through April 24.
The Piece by Piece exhibition is part of a year-long innovative community-based program to engage, entertain, educate, stimulate and involve all ages and populations from the Great Lakes Bay Region in a year of programming in folk, outsider, visionary and mosaic art experiences. More than 40 events and classes began in fall 2014 and will continue through May 2015.
Sarah Lippert, Ph.D, director of the visual arts program at the University of Michigan-Flint, served as a juror of the exhibit entries.
Creating Together Piece by Piece is made possible by grants from The Midland Area Community Foundation, The Dow Corning Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts – Art Works and The Charles J. Strosacker Foundation.
